Sevaiya Upma recipe | Vermicelli Upma Recipe | सेवई उपमा
Vermicelli Upma or the Sevaiya upma is not only a tasty breakfast but also a quick cooking alternative for busy breakfast makers. Use roasted Sevaiya and makes this in a jiffy. It can be made super nutrition by add peanuts and a lot of veggies like grated carrot, peas, corn, bell peppers or simla mirch, tomatoes, onions or crumbled Paneer.

Ingredients
VERMICILLI/SEVAI 2C
ONION CHOPPED 1 MEDIUM
TOMATO CHOPPED 1 LARGE
GROUNDNUTS 1TBSP
CURD 1/2C
CORIANDER CHOPPED 1/4 C
CURRY LEAVES 8-10
GREEN CHILLIES 3 OR MORE
UDAD DAL 1TSP
SUGAR 1 TBSP
SALT 1 TSP
Instructions for the Vermicelli Upma
Step 1
Keep two and half cups of water in a vessel. Let it simmer on the side
Step 2
Heat a nonstick wok add 1 tablespoon of oil in it
When the oil is heated up add 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds. When they start splattering add Cumin seeds or Jeera seeds.
Step 3
Add ¼ tsp of asafetida and ½ tsp At the turmeric powder. Add grated Ginger and sauté the ginger well so that it loses its raw flavor Add Udad Daal fry it golden brown .
Step 4
Add the Curry leaves fry them a little. Add the green chilies and Sauté. Add the chopped onions. Sauté them for sometime At the ground nuts Add a little bit of salt and water (1 tbsp) this helps Onions cook faster and keeps them soft
Step 5
You can add a little bit of the major Jeera Masala or you can add a little bit of Maggie Masala
Now add the hot water that has been simmering aside to the vermicelli mix. Now stir well. Now add the Yoghurt . Mix.
Step 6
Now add the chopped tomatoes. Add 2 C of vermicelli Vermicelli. Now mix the Vermicelli well so that all the strands get coated with oil and Masala.
Step 7
Add the sugar and salt and cook covered for 5 to 7 minutes. Uncover and give it a nice mix.
Step 8
Serve hot. Garnish with fresh Coriander and Coconut if you like. And enjoy this as breakfast .
