Try out the Super tasty and soft sesame seed squares made with jaggary and flavored with cardamon and Nutmeg. Enjoy making this recipe in the Tilgul season from Makar Sankranti till Rath Saptami.

Ingredients
Til 1 C
Jaggary 1 C
Ground Nut ¾ C
Desicated Coconut ¼ C
Cardamon Powder 1 tbsp
Nutmeg powder 1 tsp
Ghee 2 tbsp
Rice Flour 2-3 tbsp for Dusting
Instructions
Step 1
In a pan, dry Roast Groundnut for 8-10 Min.
Roast for 7-8 Min.
Step 2
In the same Pan Add 1 C of Sesame Seeds. Dry roast the Sesame Seeds for 3-4 min.
Till they loose their raw Flavor and become Crunchy and start sputtering
Step 3
Allow both the Oil seeds to cool then grind. Keep about 2 tbsp aside for garnishing the wadis .Now Grind the Sesame Seeds and ground Nut into a coarse Mix.
Step 4
In the some desiccated coconut into a pan and 3 tbsp of Dry roast for 2-3 min til it turns pink.
Keep 2tbsp aside for garnish, remaining add to the sesame seed mix
Grease two flat dishes about 8 inch in diameter.
Step 5
In the pan, add 1 and ½ tbsp of Clarified Butter/Desi Ghee, when the ghee melts add 1 C of Jaggary and allow it to melt. Now add 2 tbsp water and now allow the jaggary to melt completely.
Step 6
When the jaggary melts completely, add the Sesame powder and groundnut powder. Keeping the gas on sim now mix till all ingredients are fully incorporated
Step 7
Now add 1 tsp of Cardamon Powder and grate 1 tsp of Nutmeg .
Step 8
Now pour the hot mix onto the two greased plates. Flatten them with the underside of a steel bowl or spatula.
Step 9
Sprinkle with roasted sesame seed and desiccated coconut. Flatten the with a spatula
Now allow to cool and set for 8-10 min
Step 10
Cut them into squares while they are warm else it will be difficult when the jaggary sets.
